WineKeeper Shipping Information

We generally ship wine preservation and dispensing units from our northern California warehouse within several weeks from the time we receive an order. Once shipped, it can take up to week for units to be delivered. We do not attempt to make profits from shipping and handling charges.

Shipping and Handling

In the U.S., shipping costs are charged based on our negotiated rates from FedEx, plus a small handling charge that is intended to cover the cost of processing, handling and packaging your order.

If your item includes compressed gas, the Department of Transortation requires that we declare the package as "Hazmat". When shipping Hazmat packages, we collect a $30 Hazmat fee ($27.50 is payable to FedEx).

Please note that FedEx requires a signature for orders over $500 and all Hazmat orders.

Outside the U.S., FedEx shipments are handled as follows:

  • Canada: FedEx Ground Canada does not include brokerage fees or taxes, both of which are payable by the customer. FedEx International Economy includes brokerage fees, but taxes are not included and are payable by the customer.
  • International: FedEx International Economy includes brokerage fees, but taxes are not included and are payable by the customer.

High Elevation Warning

Elevations over 5,000 feet may cause stress cracks and breakage in glass. WineKeeper offers window breather tubes that will prevent damage, if alerted in advance of shipping a new unit.

In the Event of Freight Damage

You are responsible for inspecting both the packaging and unit at the time of delivery. In the event the unit arrives with damage, you must note the damage in full on the bill of lading at the time of receipt. Failure to follow these instructions may result in a denied insurance claim and / or billings for nonrefundable freight charges.
